The long awaited expanded reissue of Prince’s Purple Rain has finally been detailed. Set for June 23rd, via NPG Records and Warner Bros. Records, the album will be available on 2 CD and 3 CD/1 DVD Expanded Edition featuring the long-unavailable concert film, Prince and the Revolution Live!, and more. This is Prince’s final word on his definitive masterpiece.

Both sets include the 2015 Paisley Park Remaster as well as From The Vault & Previously Unreleased. The 3 CD/1 DVD box set is “a true collector’s item and the ultimate vision of Purple Rain,” adding Single Edits & B-Sides and the unreleased DVD Prince and the Revolution Live! from 1985 that has audio and video restored from the original master tapes.

A press release states the 2015 Paisley Park Remaster is a remaster of “the original tapes overseen by Prince himself.” From the Vault & Unreleased is a bonus disc containing 11 unheard gems from the storied vault.

The 2015 Paisley Park Remaster will also be released on double 180-gram vinyl.
