The trio received a Golden Buzzer during their America’s Got Talent audition
Family trio Chapel Hart has announced a hiatus, nearly two months after lead vocalist Danica Hart alleged abuse and violence allegations. The trio has shared that it’s “not a goodbye” but a “celebration” of their success as they introduce new projects.
“Over the last few years, Chapel Hart has taken us places we never could have imagined. We have laughed, cried, grown, and stood on stages we used to dream about. More than anything, we have shared a bond that goes deeper than music, and that part will always remain,” the trio shares.
They continue, “As we each step into new seasons in life, we have decided to press pause on Chapel Hart so we can explore other passions and dreams that have been calling to us individually. This is not a goodbye. It is a celebration of everything we have built and a step toward everything still to come.
We kindly ask for the same love and support as we each walk our different paths. You can find Danica sharing her journey at @thedanicahart while Dev and Trea begin their next chapter at @magnoliarisingofficial.
“Thank you for being part of this incredible ride. The Chapel Hart story will always be a beautiful part of our lives, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for each of us.
“We want to celebrate the community we’ve built together, so as we finish playing our scheduled shows for the rest of the season, we hope that we get to see each and every one of you on the road!! We love and thank you for being a part of the congregation and we look forward to your continued support.”
In early July, Danica said she was being “forced out” of the trio she co-founded with her sister Devynn and their cousin Trea Swindle in Mississippi. In a social media post that was deleted shortly after publishing, she wrote that she wanted to leave as she no longer felt safe as part of the group.
“Over the past several months, I have remained silent, but I can no longer stay quiet about what has happened. I am being pushed out of my band and my company, and throughout this time, I and other members of our team have been subjected to physical violence and abuse. I am at the point of breaking.”
She continued, “My intention was to fulfill the commitments and complete the agreed-upon dates, but given the circumstances, I no longer feel safe or supported to continue. I said to Jeff Glixman & management I wanted to leave because of the bad behavior and immorality going on that had no consequence or repercussions, and expressed that’s why I wanted to leave. But they continue to say ‘you said you wanted to leave,’ but not in that context, and simply That. Is. Not. True. (They already have a drafted press release typed up saying that the breakup is because I’m leaving… that’s not true.)”
Hart says if she didn’t sign the agreement by midnight last night, her sister and cousin would continue to perform as Chapel Hart.
“I received a message tonight stating that if I didn’t sign a document typed up by Jeff Glixman & Trea Swindle & Devynn Hart, saying, if i didn’t sign it by 12 am, they would be continuing their career in Chapel Hart without me! And my question is how???”
The group became a global phenomenon with their show-stopping golden buzzer performance of the Dolly Parton-inspired track, “You Can Have Him Jolene,” on NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2022. Since AGT, the ladies have quickly become a mainstay in the country music industry, receiving four standing ovations during their 2022 Grand Ole Opry debut, having been named to the Opry’s NextStage Class of 2023, performed at the CMT Music Awards, ACM Country Kickoff, Tamron Hall, headlining their 60+ date Glory Days headlining tour, and releasing three albums and a Christmas project.
