The star was set to conclude a three-night stand in southern Florida
Lady Gaga has postponed the last of three Miami concerts tonight (Wed, Sept 3rd) at the last minute due to concerns with damaging her vocal cords. The global pop star was set to take the stage at the Kaseya Center for the Mayhem Ball Tour, but canceled moments before it was set to begin.
“Hi everyone, I am really so so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami. During rehearsal last night and my vocal warmup tonight, my voice was extremely strained, and both my doctor and vocal coach have advised me not to go on because of the risk it poses,” she shared on her Instagram Stories. “I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you, but I don’t want to risk long-term or permanent damage on my vocal cords. There is a significant risk based on all our combined experience with a show like ours, and as you know, I sing live every night. Even though this was a hard and agonizing decision, I would be more afraid of the long-term implications on my voice. I hope you can forgive me and accept my sincerest apologies for any disappointment, letdown, or inconvenience. I am so, so sorry. I tried so hard to avoid this. I take serious care of myself to be able to put on this highly demanding show. I love my fans so much, respect you, and hope you can accept my sincere, regretful apology. We are trying to reschedule the show as quickly as possible.”
The Mayhem Ball Tour kicked off in Las Vegas in July with dates expanding internationally through 2026. The trek supports her new album, Mayhem, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in March.
The fastest-selling international release of the year, Mayhem debuted at No. 1 in 12 countries, including the U.S., UK, Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada, Australia, France, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and South Korea, and landed at No. 2 in the Netherlands and Sweden—further cementing Gaga’s global dominance. “Abracadabra” entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 3 and the UK Airplay Chart at No. 2, while in France, Mayhem posted the biggest first-week sales since Born This Way. In Japan, it ranked among the biggest international albums in recent years; in Finland, it was the only international album to crack the Top 10; and in Ireland, three Mayhem tracks landed in the Top 40—reinforcing its worldwide impact.
Mayhem marks a return to Gaga’s pop roots, reaffirming that she is a master of reinvention, crafting an album that is as bold and eclectic as it is deeply personal. A declaration of artistic freedom, it embraces the fractured pieces of oneself and how they come together to form something unexpected and beautiful. The album mirrors this concept with its diverse sonic palette and thematic layers, combining elements of chaos, defiance, and vulnerability into a cohesive artistic statement. Gaga describes this process as assembling a shattered mirror: “Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something memorable and whole in its own way.
Earlier today, she released “The Dead Dance,” featured in the new season of the Netflix series, Wednesday, which is now streaming and features Gaga in a guest role. The project marks her first creative collaboration with visionary director Tim Burton, who brought the story to life on location at Isla de las Muñecas—Mexico’s infamous Island of the Dolls. The cinematic video shifts between stark black-and-white and bursts of vivid color, weaving eerie imagery of dolls with Gaga’s commanding performance. The video was produced by Gaga and Michael Polansky, alongside Burton and Natalie Testa. Costumes were designed by Colleen Atwood, with choreography from Parris Goebel and featured choreography from Corey Baker.
