Actor suffered a massive stroke

Actor Luke Perry has passed away at the age of 52 from a massive stroke he suffered last week at his Sherman Oaks, CA home. Perry’s publicist confirms the news, stating his children, fiance and ex-wife were among those surrounding him. No other details are being released at this time.

The Riverdale and Beverly Hills 90210 actor had been under observation at a Burbank hospital since last Wednesday (Feb 27th). Doctors had sedated Perry in hopes to give his brain a chance to recover, but the damage was too extensive, according to TMZ, who first broke the news of the actor’s passing.

Perry broke out in Hollywood as Dylan McKay for ten seasons in Beverly Hills 90210. His latest tv role was Archie’s dad on The CW’s hit series Riverdale. Perry also starred as Lane Frost in 8 Seconds, who was a professional bull rider.

“Luke Perry… you were a joyful and vibrant soul. You will be missed but most certainly your legacy will be remembered forever. Rest in love and peace, friend. #Riverdale,” the Riverdale writers shared with a “Pops” Emoji.

News of Perry’s hospitalization came as Fox announced a revived 90210 with most of the original cast returning. Perry had expressed interest in making a few guest appearances on the revival, but couldn’t commit full time due to his Riverdale schedule.

Many musicians have shared their thoughts on Perry’s passing.
