Four dates have been postponed

Amy Grant is recovering at home following a brief hospitalization after a bicycle accident earlier this week. As a result, the contemporary Christian singer has postponed shows in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Johnson City and Wilmington as she continues to heal.

Grant was hospitalized after she had fallen from a bicycle in Nashville on Wednesday (July 27th). She was transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center where she received treatment for cuts and abrasions. Grant was wearing a helmet and did not suffer from any major injuries, but was listed in stable condition and was admitted for observation as a precaution.

A message on her socials states that Grant fell “after hitting a pothole while riding her bicycle with a friend. Following a brief hospitalization where she was treated for her injuries, doctors have ordered additional recovery time at home for Amy, where she is now resting comfortably.”

The August concerts have been rescheduled for April and June 2023. All tickets will be honored for the new dates. Grant is expected to return to the stage on August 18th in Knoxville.

“Thank you to all those offering prayers and well wishes for Amy after her bike crash yesterday,” Grant’s team posted on Thrusday. . “She is in the hospital receiving treatment but in stable condition. She is expected to go home later this week where she will continue to heal. Your kind thoughts and heartfelt prayers are felt and received. Amy was wearing her helmet and we would remind you all to do the same!”

Husband and country star Vince Gill canceled three weekend shows in North Carolina and Virginia due to the emergency.

Grant is one of five celebrities receiving the annual Kennedy Center Honors this December in Washington, DC. Throughout its 44-year history, the annual Honors Gala has become the highlight of the Washington cultural and society calendar, and its national broadcast on CBS is a high point of the television season. Gladys Knight and U2 are among the other musicians being honored in 2022.
