Viral smash hit continues to climb at Top 40 radio

Pop trio Avenue Beat join forces with GRAMMY nominated singer/songwriter Jessie Reyez for a remix of their viral hit single “F2020,” available now via Big Machine/Island Records. What began as a viral TikTok sensation, has quickly become “this year’s universal mantra” (PAPER) after landing in the Top 30 at Top 40 Radio and amassing over 50 million global streams to date.

Giving an all-pervasive 2020 mood, “F2020” has already struck a chord with many other artists such as Justin Bieber, Maren Morris, Bebe Rexha, Anne Marie and Kristin Chenoweth and shared as a way to air grievances on a year we can all agree to hate.

“Jessie was one of the first people to reach out to us about the song,” Sam Backoff shares, “and we’ve been huge fans of hers for legit years so I literally have no idea why she agreed to record it with us but we are so grateful!”

Emerging from lockdown with a steady roll out of new music and her own commentary on these unprecedented times, Canadian artist Jessie Reyez linked up with the dynamic trio to re-up the single and bring a new dimension of frustrations to the anthem. “I was inspired,” Jessie shares, “I reached out to Avenue Beat to show love, found out they produced it themselves, fell in love even more and the rest is history.”

“Her lyrics are other worldly; her tone is next level and we are so excited to get to collaborate on this with her!” Savana Santos adds. “As soon as I started listening to it, I had to run to my car to bump it as loud as humanly possible!” adds Sami Bearden.

Sam Backoff, Savana Santos and Sami Bearden are breaking barriers and forging their own lane. The pop trio, known as Avenue Beat, have skewered the pandemic, social isolation, dead pets, bad romance and a failed release as they surreptitiously dropped “F2020” on TikTok. Now, with over 16 million views on the platform and over 50 million global streams to date, “F2020” is also currently nominated for a Live x Live Lockdown Award – A Quarantine Ditty: Favorite Quarantine Song, which fans can vote for now ahead of the December 11th show airing on LiveXLive streaming platform at 9 pm ET. Just as importantly as the low impact track rolls and their angelic harmonies rise, the video behind them calls out the social injustices plaguing their conscience, offering a time capsule of how hard the year is sucking. The trio of theater nerds from Quincy, Illinois write, program, harmonize and conceptualize everything – commando-style – with a wink and nudge to how F’d things can be. They may not have any answers, but they believe in collective consciousness. Having written the song, that pretty succinctly says it all, they just want you to sing along.

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and rising global superstar Jessie Reyez debuted her RIAA certified-gold single “Imported” with 6LACK last spring, from her critically acclaimed debut studio album Before Love Came To Kill Us, which released on March 27th via FMLY/Island Records. The album features her two poignant tracks, titled “Love in The Dark” and “ANKLES.” The tracks followed the release of “Crazy” a cover version of the iconic Patsy Cline song and “Far Away”, a heart-wrenching song centered on the harsh reality many migrant families have experienced. It’s via Reyez’s raw vocals, triumphant spirit and harrowing yet heart tugging storylines that she has proven herself to be one of the most hyped new voices deserving of the great fanfare and critical acclaim she’s received to date. In the past year alone, Jessie Reyez has been nominated for a Grammy award for Best Urban Contemporary Album for her sophomore EP Being Human In Public. She’s released a string of critically-praised songs, performed “Crazy” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as well as a duet performance of the reimagined hit single “Imported” with 6LACK on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, a headlining tour, performances at a plethora of music festivals, and collaborations with many notable artists including Eminem, Kehlani, Daniel Caesar, Romeo Santos, Lewis Capaldi, Karol G, Bea Miller and has co-writing credits on Dua Lipa’s hit song “One Kiss” with Calvin Harris and “Promises” with Calvin Harris and Sam Smith.
