Beyonce confirmed for 50th CMA Awards

The singer will perform at the show

Beyonce has been confirmed as a performer for tonight’s (Nov 2nd) 50th Annual CMA Awards live from Nashville. ABC’s Good Morning America confirms that the pop star will appear at the show, but not sure at what capacity.

No word on details of her performance and if it’ll be part of a collaboration or a solo effort.

The show will primarily focus on the past 50 years of country music, relying heavily on country legends such as George Strait, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood and many more. Many current country stars will also perform and present awards.

It’s no surprise that a major pop star is performing at the annual ceremony. Last year, Justin Timberlake collaborated with newcomer Chris Stapleton for the most talked about performance of the night. The pair performed Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” and Timberlake’s “Drink You Away.” Stapleton went on to sweep each category in which he was nominated.

The 50th Annual CMA Awards airs live tonight (Nov 2nd) from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville at 8 pm ET on ABC. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood host for the ninth year.
