Hybe and BigHit Music will continue their ongoing partnership with K-pop superstars

Hype has announced that BigHit Music passed its board resolution to sign exclusive agreements with BTS members, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. Based on the board resolution, BigHit Music will sign with all BTS members sequentially and continue to work with the group on their future releases from 2025 onwards when the band completes its required military service.

21st-century pop icons BTS made their debut in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment, which later became Hybe. The band rose to become the leading South Korean artist to bring forth a worldwide BTS phenomenon. They achieved various global milestones such as topping the prominent global music charts such as the U.S. Billboard Charts, U.K. Official Charts, Japanese Oricon Charts, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

The band also set multiple records by performing at the most prestigious music award ceremonies in the US including Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. At the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2021, they were not only nominated but also became the first South Korean act to perform at the awards. In 2023, they became a five-time Grammy nominee over the last three consecutive years. They also won the prestigious Artist of the Year Award at the 2021 American Music Awards.

Their tour at iconic stadiums around the world further solidified their position as global superstars. The band is also known for spreading positive influence through their philanthropic efforts as shown through their United Nations speech and the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF.

Since 2022, BTS embarked on a second chapter of their career, balancing their group activities with solo projects. Their solo releases also dominated global charts, with all members scoring Billboard Hot 100 chart hits, once again proving their worldwide presence. On June 17, BTS held 2023 BTS Festa across Seoul in celebration of their 10th debut anniversary as a special thanks to their global fanbase, Army.

BigHit Music will take into consideration the military service status of some of the members and plans to sign with each BTS member sequentially. The members who are currently serving in the military will have completed their military duty by the start of the renewed exclusive contract period in 2025.

“With the renewal of their contracts, we are looking forward to supporting BTS’ group activities expected in 2025,” Hybe shares. “Hybe and BigHit Music will provide all support necessary to continue to expand and elevate BTS’ presence.”

As a gesture of gratitude to BTS and their fans, Army, BigHit Music decided to donate one billion KRW to the Korean Committee for UNICEF. The donation has been made as a part of the Love Myself campaign, which launched in November 2017 in collaboration with BTS.
