The Piano Man cancels all dates through summer 2026
Billy Joel has announced that he will be canceling all scheduled concerts following a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance. Under his doctor’s instructions, Joel is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Joel is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health. He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.
“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” Joel says in a statement.
Refunds will automatically processed back to the original payment used for the purchase.
Canceled dates include solo shows and stops with Sting, Rod Stewart, and Stevie Nicks through July 2026, including a trio of stadium shows in the New York City area. In March, he postponed all dates through June for what was described as an “undisclosed medical condition.”
Joel will be the subject of an HBO Original two-part documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes, this summer. Directed by Emmy winners Susan Lacy (HBO’s Jane Fonda in Five Acts and Spielberg) and Jessica Levin (HBO’s The Janes and Jane Fonda in Five Acts), the film will debut on HBO and will be available to stream on Max with a release date to be announced.
