Music legend’s only 2023 European appearance

Billy Joel will make his only 2023 European appearance as headliner of American Express presents BST Hyde Park in July. One of the most popular recording artists and respected entertainers in history, Joel will perform on the BST stage on Friday, July 7th.

Tickets are available to AMEX members in a presale on Thursday, September 29th starting at 10 am local time through Thursday, October 6th at 10 am local time. Tickets will go on general sale on October 6th at 10 am local time via Ticketmaster.

This announcement comes shortly before the release of one of the most recognized concert films of all time, Live At Yankee Stadium, comes to cinemas for a special two-night global fan event via Trafalgar Releasing on Wednesday, October 5th and Sunday, October 9th. Shot live on 16mm color film on June 22 and 23, 1990, at the iconic Bronx stadium, the original concert has been re-edited in stunning 4K with Dolby Atmos audio and newly mixed from the original multi-track tapes by Jay Vicari and overseen by Joel’s long time sound engineer Brian Ruggle.

Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings will release Billy Joel Live at Yankee Stadium digitally as well as a 2 CD/Blu-ray combo and 3 LP sets on November 4th. The new editions contain 22 performances from Joel’s historic two-day run at The House That Ruth Built and features 11 completely unreleased performances, including “Uptown Girl,” “Only The Good Die Young,” “Allentown” and more.

Billy Joel joins previously announced headliners Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on the BST Hyde Park billing for 2023 so far. Springsteen is headlining July 6th and 8th as part of his 2023 UK stadium shows. All four stadium dates sold out within eight hours of going on sale in July.

2022’s BST Hyde Park saw three monumental weekends of music; the Rocketman himself Elton John performed as a part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, The Rolling Stones were reunited with Hyde Park for two incredible sell out nights, with an emotional and triumphant tribute to the late Charlie Watts. London’s global star Adele brought it home for two shows with an incredible all female line up. The Sunday vibes were offered up by Americana legends Eagles and Pearl Jam provided two packed nights of rock n roll. Finally, one of Britain’s best loved groups, Duran Duran, closed the final night with a day of singalong smash hits.
