After five years, the Black Eyed Peas have reunited to help communities in crisis via a transformation of their 2003 #1 breakthrough hit โWhere Is The Love?โ into โ#WHERESTHELOVEโ.
Credited as The Black Eyed Peas Ft. The World, the “#WHERESTHELOVEโ music video is available exclusively on Apple Music, and the song is available for download exclusively on iTunes. After the 24 hour iTunes exclusive global premiere period, the song will be going wide to all digital retailers. The Black Eyed Peas, Interscope Records and iTunes will donate all of their respective proceeds from the purchase of the song in the United States to i.am.angel Foundation, a non-profit foundation that is transforming lives through education, inspiration and opportunity created by Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am.
โThe Worldโ in The Black Eyed Peas Ft. The World alludes to the wealth of talent joining will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie on โWhereโs The Love?โ including performers Jamie Foxx, Ty Dolla $ign, Mary J. Blige, Diddy, Cassie, Andra Day, The Game, Tori Kelly, V. Boseman, Jessie J, French Montana, Justin Timberlake, DJ Khaled, Usher, Nicole Scherzinger, A$AP Rocky, Jaden Smith and a 40-member childrenโs choir.
A critical component of the Black Eyed Peasโ call to action is the spectacular โ#WHERESTHELOVEโ video, which boasts the on-camera participation of (in order of appearance), Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown, Sandra Sterling (the aunt who raised Alton Sterling, fatally shot by police), Minister Tony Muhammad, Olivia Munn, Taye Diggs, Kendall Jenner, Shailene Woodley, Nikki Reed, Lindsay Vonn, Guillermo Diaz, Rosario Dawson, Carla Gugino, Wilmer Vilderamma, Snoop Dogg, Erika Christensen, Vanessa Hudgens, Connie Britton, Paula Patton, Valerie Castile (mother of Philando Castile, fatally shot by police), Father Don Woznicki, Pauley Perrette, Quincy Jones, Lance Bass, Officer Bob Wu, Tommy Davidson, Lalah Hathaway, Robert Wilson, Cantor Ester Schwartz, Randy Jackson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Officer Miguel Salcedo, Big Boy, Sister Rose Pacatte, Joel Madden, Sen Dog, Bryan Greenberg, Wiz Khalifa, Adrianne Palicki, Officer Abe Capeida, LL Cool J, Bellamy Young and Norman Lear, among a world of others.
Thirteen years on, the Black Eyed Peas remind us: โ โฆ if you only have love for your own race/ Then you only leave space to discriminate/ And to discriminate only generates hateโ — and encourage us to keep asking: โ#WHERESTHELOVEโ?
โ#WHERESTHELOVEโ was written by will.i.am, Alan Pineda, Jamie Gomez, Justin Timberlake, Jayceon Taylor, Rakim Mayers, Khaled (DJ Khaled) Khaled and Giorgio Tuinfort and produced by will.i.am and Giorgio Tuinfort. The โWhereโs The Love?โ video was directed by Michael Jurkovac.
