Group chats with Anthony Mason

The Black Keys will be profiled on CBS Saturday Morning tomorrow (July 9th). Anthony Mason chats with the Grammy-winning rock band as they celebrate 20 years together and hit the road to tour their new album, Dropout Boogie. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney talk about their wild early touring days and more. Additionally, The Black Keys will perform songs on “Saturday Sessions.”

Dropout Boogie was released in May — one day before the 20th anniversary of the group’s debut was issued — and features collaborations with ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons, Reigning Sound’s Greg Cartwright, and Kings of Leon’s Angelo Petraglia.

As they have done their entire career, the duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney wrote all of the material in the studio, and the new album captures a number of first takes that hark back to the stripped-down blues rock of their early days making music together in Akron, Ohio basements.

The Black Keys will tour North America for the first time in three years starting in July in Las Vegas. Band of Horses will support on all dates, while Ceramic Animal, Early James, and the Velveteers will open at select performances. International tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
