Infectious new single is available

Global superstars Blackpink unleash the irresistible new single “The Girls,” the K-pop group’s first music since releasing the record-breaking No. 1 album Born Pink via YG Entertainment/Interscope Records. Empowering and upbeat, “The Girls” debuted on Blackpink’s The Game — their hugely popular mobile game. This new song celebrates the quartet’s unstoppable rise to the top and perfectly encapsulates their defiant, fun-loving attitude.

“Stop sign, we burning it down,” Blackpink sings over bouncy beats on the addictive chorus. “Better watch out, we coming in loud.” The hitmakers then fire off a warning: “Bang bang! Just playing around, don’t mess with the girls with the girls with the girls.” Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa are known for their innovative videos (they have a record 90 million YouTube subscribers), and “The Girls” is no exception.

In addition to releasing new music, the foursome will perform at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles on the final date of their World Tour [Born Pink] Encore on Saturday, August 26th. The extended leg featured shows at major stadiums across the US. Starting on August 12th, Blackpink performed at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and Oracle Park in San Francisco.

The enormous success of Born Pink is just the latest achievement in what has been a meteoric ascent for the K-pop group. After releasing global hits like “How You Like That” and their song with Selena Gomez “Ice Cream,” Blackpink released The Album in 2020 to universal acclaim. The captivating project debuted at No. 2 on both the US Billboard 200 and the UK Official Chart, and sold more than 1.4 million copies worldwide, making Blackpink the first K-pop girl group to sell over a million units.

With “The Girls,” Blackpink begins a new chapter as the group continues to win new fans the world over.
