The song will be available on November 17th

Christmas is coming early for Bon Jovi fans. The group will release an original Christmas song, “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” on Friday, November 17th via Island Records.

“We’ve got an early Christmas present for you! Our new original holiday song, “Christmas Isn’t Christmas” is out this Friday,” the band shares on social media.

The song was recorded at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville and features the current lineup of Jon Bon Jovi on vocals, Tico Torres on drums, David Bryan on keyboards, Phil X on guitar, Hugh McDonald on bass, John Shanks on guitar and Everett Bradley on percussion.

Bon Jovi has previously released several Christmas songs, including “Back Door Santa,” “I Wish Everyday Could Be Like Christmas,” “Please Come Home for Christmas” and “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” In 2020, Jon Bon Jovi released A Jon Bon Jovi Christmas, an acoustic EP featuring “Christmas All Over Again,” “Fairytale of New York” and “If I Get Home on Christmas Day.”

The group recently teamed with Hasbro for a Bon Jovi-branded version of Monopoly in celebration of the band’s 40th anniversary in 2024. The completely customized game features Bon Jovi’s career playing thousands of concerts performed in more than 50 countries to more than 35 million fans. From their start in Asbury Park to headlining sold-out shows in cities around the world, fans can own them all with the game.

Additional 40th anniversary plans are in place as the group hits the milestone with their debut album in 2024. Last week, former guitarist Richie Sambora shared that a documentary was in the works and hopes to reunite with his bandmates for an upcoming tour.

“There’s a documentary that’s being done about the band and stuff that I’ve participated in, and people want to come see us play, and it’s going to make everybody happy. I mean, essentially, that’s why you do it at this point. I think that we wrote a lot of songs that changed a lot of people’s lives just by letting them have a good time. I know that’s what music did to me… kept me company. And I hope that I can reflect that in what I do,” Sambora says.

In February, Bon Jovi earned its second video in YouTube’s Billion Views Club with “Livin’ On A Prayer.” In a social media announcement video, Jon teased big plans are in the works for the band’s 40th anniversary in 2023 which may include a follow up to Bon Jovi’s 2004 box set. There’s been no further news on the box or additional plans as of press time, but Jon has been spotted around Nashville recently as they work on the follow-up to the band’s 2020 album and an entertainment complex on Nashville’s Lower Broadway.

Jon will also named the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year for the 33rd annual Person of the Year benefit gala taking place ahead of the Grammys on February 2nd in Los Angeles. In addition to his extensive musical achievements, Jon Bon Jovi is being recognized for his impactful philanthropic work.
