Star-studded show benefits Oasis Center
Breland’s rapid rise to fame within a year and a half of moving to Nashville is a rare feat that’s resulted in a long list of “Famous Friends.” Many of those artist friends joined the Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Artist on stage at the Ryman Auditorium on Tuesday (Apr 12th) for a sold out star-studded charity show called Breland & Friends.
The event, livestreamed via the Amazon Music Twitch channel, benefits the Oasis Center. They are one of Middle Tennessee’s most comprehensive youth development agencies. Oasis is at the forefront of helping young people and their families navigate the complex challenges of today.
The group raised over $140,000 to benefit the Oasis Center, helping local youth in need.
The show treated fans to one-off collaborations, new songs, and familiar hits with some of country’s newest stars. Dierks Bentley, Tyler Braden, Kane Brown, Russell Dickerson, Mickey Guyton, Sam Hunt, Charles Kelley, RaeLynn, Restless Road, Lily Rose, Seaforth and Brittney Spencer were among the announced guests for the show.
Surprise appearances by Nelly, Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Jimmie Allen with Lathan Warlick had the crowd on their feet with excitement. Dickerson even surprised the gracious host by inviting Hubbard to join them for “It’s About Time.”
“I never thought I’d sell out the Ryman this early in my career. It only took seventeen other artists to help me do it,” Breland joked early in the show.
Among the show highlights include Breland and Charles Kelley performing Lady A’s “Need You Now” with Breland singing Hillary Scott’s lines. Kane Brown joined for a singalong of his No. 1 hit with Chris Young, “Famous Friends.”
Mickey Guyton encouraged everyone to donate to the Oasis Center before singing “Cross Country” with the star. Allen, who joined Breland and Warlick for “Somebody,” also performed his No. 1 hit with Brad Paisley, “Freedom Was A Highway,” as a solo acoustic song.
Breland also debuted a six-eight R&B-infused “country sex jam” he co-wrote with Australian duo Seaforth that will appear on his forthcoming debut album due in June.
Bentley received one of the largest applause as he joined Breland for his hit “Riser,” and their joint No. 1 single “Beers On Me” that also features Hardy.
“He’s just getting started in this town and is already using his celebrity capital to raise money for causes like Oasis,” Bentley shared to applause.
The show ended with a quick encore performance with Sam Hunt. The pair sang Breland’s debut “My Truck,” as the crowd cheered and sang along. Breland danced around the stage in excitement throughout the night.
“I need to make Breland & Friends a three day festival,” the country star acknowledged to crowd eruption.
