Carlos Santana is launching a men’s shoe line called Carlos by Carlos Santana Shoes for Men. The Latin rock guitarist has launched a Kickstarter campaign to provide affordable, luxury, handcrafted shoes made of full-leather or calfskin suede. Each shoe is hand-stitched at a family-owned factory in Spain to only produce the best quality men’s shoes.
“From incredible comfort to exquisite durability, Carlos by Carlos Santana Shoes for Men are designed to turn heads, embrace your funky sense of style and give you the confidence to be the best ‘you’ that you can be,” the campaign page states.
There are three Carlos by Carlos Santana Men’s Shoe collections to choose from: The Goodyear Welted Luxury Collection, Goodyear Welted Essential Collection, and the Blake Construction Fashionable Collection. Fans who back the project get to pick the collection they want at the start of the campaign and then the shoe style, color and size when it’s finished.
There are several “Early Bird” specials to choose from starting at $125. The shoes retail at $225 but backers save 40% off MSRP as an Early Bird Pledger. All campaigns $125 and over get a free T-shirt and Santana ShapeShifter CD as well. The special edition shoes come with Santana’s guitar printed on the sole. The shoes are expected to be delivered worldwide beginning July 2017.
As of this writing, the campaign has raised just over $16,000 of its $40,000 goal. The campaign promises that the shoes will be “the most unique pair of shoes in your closet.” The first 500 backers will receive free resoling, when needed.
