Young was arrested by Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission officers

Following a thorough review of the evidence, including security camera footage released earlier this week, all charges against country music star Chris Young have been dismissed following his January 22nd arrest in Nashville.

In a statement issued by Nashville District Attorney, Glenn Funk, he stated “Regarding the Chris Young incident – After a review of all the evidence in this case, the Office of the District Attorney has determined that these charges will be dismissed.”

Young’s attorney, Bill Ramsey, shared, “Mr. Young and I are gratified with the DA’s decision clearing him of the charges and any wrong-doing.”

According to the arrest affidavit, agents were completing an identification check on Monday around 8:30 pm at the Tin Roof on Demonbreun Street when Young was sitting at a bar with his ID over his head. The report claims that Young followed the agents after being cleared and began asking questions before recording them. After the officers completed their investigation, they went next door to DawgHouse to do the same when a group of people, including Young, followed. Young began talking to the bartender and patrons but confronted officers and prevented them from leaving the establishment.

The arrest report claims that “Mr. Young put his hands out to stop me from leaving the bar and struck me on the shoulder,” before admitting to pushing Young to “create distance since I had no idea of who Mr. Young was or what he had.”

Four security videos were released by his publicity team showing a different story. The clips show the interaction with Young falling over a table and chairs after being shoved by a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent. The 38-year-old singer is seen reaching out to an agent, who reacted by shoving Young hard enough for him to lose his balance and fall backward. Young regained his stance and put his hands in the air while backing away before officers took Young into custody for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault.

The multi-platinum, global entertainer is readying his highly anticipated ninth studio album, Young Love & Saturday Nights, available March 22nd on Sony Music Nashville and gearing up to head out on his headlining Young Love & Saturday Nights 2024 Tour.
