The Georgia native covers iconic track for golf Masters

Lady A’s Charles Kelley has been tapped by ESPN for his rendition of the iconic track “Georgia On My Mind” to be used in the official nationwide commercial leading into the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club. The Augusta, GA native brings an authentic tie to the Masters anthem tradition as he captures the warmth and southern charm that highlights the prestige of one of the world’s most notorious and loved tournaments.

Kelley’s version of “Georgia On My Mind” is available at all digital retailers.

“Growing up in Augusta I have been going to the Masters for as long as I can remember, so this was a special full-circle moment for me,” Kelley shares. “No one can sing this song like Ray Charles, but I hope I did him justice and I can’t wait to get back home and experience the Masters in-person.”

The song was originally recorded by Hoagy Carmichael and His Orchestra with lyrics by Stuart Gorrell in 1930. It has been remade several times, with the most famous version coming from Ray Charles in 1960.
