Album will be all Janson

Chris Janson is making the most of his quarantine time by working on a “secret” new album. The country superstar says the project will be one hundred percent him from start to finish.

“I’ve also been working on an album down here, but it’s kind of a secret album,” he says of the many activities keeping himself busy in a new video released by iHeartCountry. “Well, it’s not gonna be a secret, it’s gonna be one hundred percenters, meaning I write all of the songs — just me. It’s gonna be like a traditional country album which is kinda cool. And I will write, produce, sing, of course, do all of it, but 100 percenters. It’s a concept I’ve been thinking about for awhile, but this is the perfect time while I’ve got a bunch of downtime to work on it. So, I’ve been compiling many songs and working on it.”

No word on when the project will be released. It will be the follow up to his third major label release on Warner Music Nashville, Real Friendsreleased last October. The album has sparked the No. 1 “Good Vibes” and latest single “Done.”

“Good Vibes” has earned more than 86 million streams, marking the third most-streamed song of his career, and 800 million airplay audience impressions. “Done” was named country radio’s most-added single upon its November 2019 release. The track peaked at No. 23 in April after 21 weeks on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
