This weekend’s CMT Hot 20 Countdown (airing Saturday, Feb 10th and Sunday, Feb 11th at 9 am ET/PT) will feature exclusive content from Toby’s entire career, from his first interview with CMT in the early 90s to his final sit-down with Cody Alan, alongside some of his most memorable CMT performances and moments, inside stories from his biggest hits plus reactions from friends and peers in the country music community.

The country star passed away on Monday (Feb 5th) at 62 after a three-year battle with stomach cancer. Despite his health, he returned to the stage in mid-2023 where he performed a pair of pop-up shows in Norman, Oklahoma. His final performances were marked by three sell-out shows at Park MGM in Las Vegas in December where he was surprised backstage with Pandora’s Triple Billionaire Plaque for performances of his music on the platform.

Keith rose to fame in 1993 with the release of the self-penned “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.” He released 24 studio and compilation albums and sold more than 40 million globally. In his career, he produced more than 60 singles with 20 topping the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” “How Do You Like Me Now!?,” and “Beer for My Horses” with friend Willie Nelson, were among his biggest hits.
