Cody Johnson to perform National Anthem at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game

Johnson will return to headline the stadium on November 9th

Texas native Cody Johnson will perform the National Anthem at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas tonight (Tues, July 16th). The performance and game will air on Fox starting at 7 pm Central.

Cody will return to the home of the Texas Rangers when he brings his Leather Tour to the stadium on November 9th. Pardi joins this date as a special guest. Limited tickets remain.

Earlier this spring, Cody threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Texas Rangers’ home game against the Seattle Mariners. Cody performed at Globe Life Field in 2023 as part of The American Rodeo and also played the former home of the Texas Rangers, now known as Choctaw Stadium, many times.

During his career, Cody has performed before massive stadium crowds as a special guest on tours with Zac Brown Band, Luke Combs, and Miranda Lambert, at Nissan Stadium as part of CMA Fest, and many rodeos and more. Among the rodeos were multiple appearances at the Houston Rodeo where in 2023 Cody became the third performer ever to sell out opening night following records set in previous years by Garth Brooks in 2018 and George Strait in 2017, with a crowd of 70,554 cheering fans.

The National Anthem is on everyone’s minds after Ingrid Andress took center stage at the MLB Home Run Derby on Monday in Arlington. Her performance of the National Anthem was met with mixed reactions with many comparing it to Fergie’s 2018 NBA All-Star Game National Anthem performance, which was widely criticized for its unconventional arrangement and delivery. Earlier today, the country star apologized for being drunk during her performance and said she’d be checking herself into rehab.
