The star was booked for three misdemeanors in Tennessee

Darius Rucker was arrested on a minor drug offense in Williamson County, Tennessee today (Thurs, Feb 1st). According to TMZ, the country star was booked on two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count for driving with expired tags, all misdemeanors.

The arrest happened around noon CT. Rucker was released from custody a few hours later after posting bond for $10,500.

Rucker’s attorney, Mark Puryear, tells the publication, “Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.”

Details leading to Rucker’s arrest are unclear, including what type of drugs he is accused of possessing.

The Hootie & The Blowfish frontman has yet to comment on the situation.

In December, Rucker was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His latest album, Carolyn’s Boy, was released fall. He has planned appearances this weekend at the Grand Ole Opry before launching a European tour in April and a North American summer tour.
