Video is due April 6th

Following their hugely successful US St. Patrick’s Day Tour, Dropkick Murphys have released “Gotta Get To Peekskill” featuring Violent Femmes as the new single from their forthcoming Okemah Rising album, out May 12ht via the band’s Dummy Luck Music/[PIAS]. Okemah Rising is the second in Dropkick Murphys’ series of works interpreting the words of Woody Guthrie for a new generation.

The video for “Gotta Get To Peekskill” will be released Thursday, April 6th and will feature performance footage from Dropkick Murphys’ 2023 European tour intercut with clips of Dropkick Murphys’ founder/vocalist Ken Casey as well as Gordon Gano and Brian Ritchie of Violent Femmes.

“We had the privilege of collaborating with the Violent Femmes on this feisty track,” Casey shares of the collaboration. “Acoustic Dropkicks sounds a lot like the Violent Femmes in my opinion, so the collaboration is musically and symbolically fitting. And singing a song about fighting the Ku Klux Klan is always extra fun.

Okemah Rising follows Dropkick Murphys’ highly-acclaimed This Machine Still Kills Fascists album, which exposed the band to new audiences through airplay on stations like SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country, and via Dropkick Murphys’ first-ever acoustic, reserved-seating theater tour in 2022.

After recently wrapping a US trek which culminated in four sold out hometown shows in Boston with special guests including Turnpike Troubadours, Nikki Lane, Jesse Ahern, and The Rumjacks, Dropkick Murphys will hit the road again soon for North American festivals, as well as summer European festivals.
