Virtual event set for May 10th
Pandora has announced that multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Ella Mai will perform in a virtual event next week. The Xfinity Awesome Gig Powered by Pandora Featuring Ella Mai will take place on Tuesday, May 10th at 8:30 pm ET/5:30 pm PT. Fans can RSVP to attend for free.
Swaggy Sie, host of The Culture Trap on SiriusXM’s Hip-Hop Nation (ch. 44) and the morning show on SiriusXM’s The Heat (ch. 46), will emcee the evening and interview Mai about her highly anticipated new album, Heart On My Sleeve, which is out May 6th. Mai will perform songs from her sophomore album, including her current single “Leave You Alone,” as well as tracks from her acclaimed self-titled debut album.
Mai has been topping charts since 2018 when her first single “Boo’d Up” (RIAA-Certified 7x Platinum) broke the record for the most weeks at No. 1 of any song by a woman on the R&B/Hip-Hop Billboard Airplay chart. Her follow-up single, the 5x-Platinum “Trip,” peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and her debut album, Ella Mai, has reached 2x Platinum status. In addition to her chart-topping domination and success, Mai has won a number of awards, including a GRAMMY Award for Best R&B Song; three Billboard Music Awards, including the coveted Top R&B Artist; three Soul Train Awards; an NAACP Image Award; and a BET Viewer’s Choice Award. After a busy three years that included touring the world and the release of the track “Not Another Love Song” to bridge projects, Mai kicked off her sophomore season with the hit single, “DFMU” at the beginning of 2022.
