New track puts fans in holiday spirit
Elle King gets fans in the holiday spirit with the release of her version of the Christmas classic โPlease Come Home For Christmasโ via RCA Records/Columbia Nashville. Her signature swag and bluesy tone will put anyone in the mood for the holiday season.
Just last month, King and Miranda Lambert received a nomination for a CMA Award in the “Musical Even Of the Year” category for their hit single โDrunk (And I Donโt Wanna Go Home).โ The show is Wednesday, November 10th on ABC.
Their hit single โDrunkโ came roaring out of the gate upon release and has already racked up over 150 million streams globally. The single debuted at No. 1 in early March on both Billboardโs Rock Digital Sales Chart and the Country Digital Song Sales Chart. Additionally, King is the first female artist in history to have scored four radio No. 1 singles on different formats including Adult Pop Songs, Adult Alternative Songs, Alternative Songs and Country Airplay charts.
โDrunkโ was co-written by King with Martin Johnson, who also produced the track, and was recorded in Nashville and New York pre-pandemic. This is the second time King collaborated with Lambert, having recorded together their first release โFooled Around and Fell in Love,โ along with Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack, which became โMusic Event of The Yearโ at the 2020 ACM Awards. King also was a special guest on Mirandaโs 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour. In addition, Kingโs 2016 collaboration with Dierks Bentley on โDifferent for Girls,โ also scored a No. 1 on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck and Billboard country airplay charts and won a CMA Award for โMusical Event of the Yearโ the same year.
