The group broke records with “Cupid”

Billboard has released the Hot 100 Year-End chart for 2023, which ranks the best-performing songs in the US for the year based on physical and digital sales, as well as airplay and streaming numbers.

Fifty Fifty has become the first K-pop girl group to appear on the ranking, with their viral hit “Cupid” charting at No. 44. The song was first released in February 2023 and made it to the Year-End charts for Pop Airplay Songs at No. 28, Adult Pop Airplay Songs at No. 38, Streaming Songs at No. 42, and Radio Songs at No. 68.

“It is a great honor to be included in [the Billboard Year-End Chart] and would like to thank everyone who enjoyed Fifty Fifty – ‘Cupid,'” shares the group’s Keena. “We will continue to work hard to supply great music for our fans in return for the support we have received. In wisdom and bravery, we will challenge the Billboard Charts and the global music market again with newly prepared albums by Fifty Fifty in its unique style and would like to ask the fans for their continued support. Thank you so very much again.”

Fifty Fifty, a South Korean girl group formed in 2022, experienced a global commercial breakthrough with their viral hit single “Cupid.” The single made Fifty Fifty the fastest K-pop group to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart within four months of debut. Furthermore, it made them the first K-pop girl group to enter the top ten of the UK charts. Fifty Fifty broke Blackpink’s record, becoming the longest-charting K-pop girl group on the British and Billboard charts. The song also set a new record for the longest entry on the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 by a K-pop girl group.

In April, it was announced that the girl group signed a partnership with Warner Records in the US after making their Billboard Hot 100 debut with the song in March. They are the sixth-ever K-pop group to enter the chart, following Wonder Girls, BTS, Blackpink, Twice and NewJeans.
