Jin releases ‘The Astronaut’

New solo single & video available now

BTS’ Jin has released his new solo single “The Astronaut” via BigHit Music. The official music video is also available.

“The Astronaut” is a defined as a pop-rock song co-written by Coldplay, with the British band also playing on the recording. The song features a beautiful harmony between the calming sound of acoustic guitar and gradual build-up of synth sound. On October 27th, Coldplay gave a sneak peak of the song via their official social media channel, heightening the anticipation ahead of its release.

Jin co-wrote the lyrics that show a profound affection and the K-pop superstar’s deeply sentimental voice amplifies the refreshing yet dreamy mood of the song.

“The Astronaut” marks the second collaboration between BTS and Coldplay after Coldplay and BTS’ “My Universe” released in September last year.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin appears as a news presenter delivering the breaking news. On his way to the spaceship where we first landed, Jin recalls his memories on Earth as flashbacks. The video sees a heartwarming ending as Jin decides to stay on Earth to stay with his loved ones, eventually finding his “true” home.
