Band is celebrating 50th anniversary

Judas Priest have been presented with a special plaque commemorating an incredible 50 years in music and over 50 million album sales worldwide. The presentation was made on the eve of the band’s induction in to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles last month.

Les Binks, KK Downing, Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Dave Holland, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis are now members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. During the ceremony early last month in Los Angeles, the band reunited with Downing to perform a three song medley of “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’,” “Breaking The Law” and “Living After Midnight.” Alice Cooper inducted the band.

Frontman Rob Halford also joined Dolly Parton for an all-star grand finale that saw the metal god sining “Jolene” alongside Pink, Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, Pat Benetar, Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon and Eurythmics’ Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart. The 37th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is now streaming on HBO Max.

Over the past 50 years, Judas Priest’s music has come to define the metal genre with benchmark albums that have sold in their millions globally and sold out tours that have seen them headline the world’s biggest stadiums. With their evolving music and live performances also came a powerful unique identity – a look which has both defined the group and influenced future generations of metal bands.

The band is currently on its 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour. The band is co-headlining festivals in Mexico and Latin America after wrapping North American dates last month. The classic band will head to Europe for a string of dates in May and June 2023.
