Song is solo debut from Korean star

Global K-pop superstar Jung Kook of BTS releases “Seven” featuring Latto, marking Kook’s official global solo debut.

Seven” is a fun summer song that puts its spin on the UK garage genre. The genre’s unique rhythm and texture meet with the catchy acoustic guitar sound, highlighting the light-hearted melody perfect for the summer. Jung Kook’s unique timbre and playful energy complete the song.

“Seven” is a romantic serenade singing one’s wishes to spend everyday, seven days a week with a beloved one. The highly-anticipated digital single was written and produced by Grammy-winning producers and songwriters Andrew Watt and Cirkut. Grammy-nominated American rapper Latto teamed up with Jung Kook as featured artist.

CEO of Hybe America Scooter Braun also actively took part in the overall song production.

The official music video unfolds a movie-like storyline and unique aesthetics. Known for their works with Harry Styles, Cardi B, etc., Bradley Bell and Pablo Jones-Soler came together to direct the music video. Korean actress Han So-hee and featured artist Latto took on the cast to complete the music video. The official music video teaser released on July 12 made an impressive feat by garnering over 1 million views in 10 minutes upon its release.

The official music video makes its broadcast premiere at midnight ET on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop, and will meet the public through the Paramount Times Square billboards.

“I deliberated on how more people could enjoy ‘Seven,’” Kook shares. “This is my first time working on the [UK garage] genre, and the production process was very fresh and new. I also learned a lot from recording ‘Seven.’”

Today (Fri, July 14th), Kook will make his first official American TV debut of “Seven” on Good Morning America’s 2023 Summer Concert Series in New York.

Jung Kook (Jeon, Jeongguk) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and member of 21st century pop icons, BTS. Living up to the group’s universal reputation, Jung Kook is known as an “all-rounder” with his versatility in vocal, rap and performance. In addition to BTS’ group works, Jung Kook has been proving his wide spectrum of musical talent through solo works such as “Euphoria,” “My Time” and “Still With You,” and collaborative singles with global artists including Lauv and Charlie Puth.

Jung Kook has continuously participated in making music including the BTS Japanese single “Your Eyes Tell”, “Stay” from Be, and “Run BTS” from Proof. He also demonstrated his potential as a producer by partaking in producing songs like “Outro: Love Is Not Over” from The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1, “Magic Shop” from Love Yourself: Tear, and his solo single “Still With You.” Jung Kook also participated in singing “Dreamers,” the Official Soundtrack of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which he performed at the Opening Ceremony.
