Timberlake has been released following arraignment

Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York at 12:37 this morning (Tues, June 18th) for driving while intoxicated (DWI). The Sag Harbor Police Department confirmed the arrest with an affidavit.

Police observed Timberlake failing to stop at a “duly posted sign” while also “failing to maintain his lane of travel” on Madison Street. Police said Timberlake’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy with a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. He was “unable to divine attention, he had slowed speech, he was instead afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

Timberlake was arrested after telling police, “I had one martini and I followed my friends home.” He refused to take a breathalizer three times, according to News 12 Westchester.

Timberlake was held overnight for morning arraignment. He was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court where he was released on his own recognizance.

His lawyer Ed Burke made a statement to US Weekly, “The charge was a single count because he refused the breath test. Mr. Timberlake was also charged with two other court citations, running a stop sign and not traveling in the correct traffic lane.”

Timberlake is in the midst of the North American leg of his massive The Forget Tomorrow World Tour. His next shows are in Chicago on June 21st and 22nd where he’ll play to sold-out crowds at the United Center. Dates are scheduled through December 20th in Kansas City.
