Event will air live on Aug 30th

Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Maluma and CNCO have been added as performers at at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. The event will be hosted by Keke Palmer and airs live on Sunday, August 30th at 8 pm ET/PT.

This marks the first time in seven years that Lady Gaga has performed on the program. It’s the first performance for Roddy Ricch and second by The Weeknd, who last took the stage in 2015.

These artists follow first round performers BTS, Doja Cat and J Balvin. Additional performers to be announced soon.

Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande lead nominations with nine noms each. The Weeknd is up for six awards while Roddy Ricch has earned three nominations. Maluma has single nomination with CNCO at two.

Fans can vote for their favorites across 15 gender-neutral categories, including “Video of the Year,” “Artist of the Year,” “Best Quarantine Performance,” and more by visiting vma.mtv.com through August 23rd. Voting for “PUSH Best New Artist, Presented by Chime Banking,” will remain active into the show on Sunday, August 30th.

The show was set to be held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, but will now be staged at various locations throughout New York City’s five boroughs. The venue change following health recommendations from local health officials. The performances will be live with few or no audience members, per health guidelines.
