Getting Good At Being You is available Nov 2nd

Lauren Alaina has announced the release of her book, Getting Good At Being You: Learning to Love Who God Made You to Be, on November 2nd with Trisha Yearwood writing the Foreword. With a little bit of country, a whole lot of faith, and a healthy dose of sass, the award-winning singer-songwriter’s debut book invites fans to take the road less traveled as they step right up to who God calls you to be.

Alaina shared the news via her socials last week. “Be sure to BOOK your calendars for November 2nd. I’m releasing my WRITE of passage, Getting Good At Being You. Can’t wait for you to read it. It’s available for preorder online everywhere books are sold, and on shelves in November. Thank you times a million to @trishayearwood for writing the foreword ?#GettingGoodAtBeingYou.”

After years in the spotlight on American Idol and Dancing with the Stars, Alaina has learned a thing or two about fighting self-doubt and feeling at home in her own skin. In Getting Good at Being You, Alaina shares stories about everything from lost loves to getting a nose ring to battling an eating disorder to grieving a loved one’s death. Each story leads to practical tips, take-it-on-the-road strategies, and encouragement for your own personal and spiritual growth.

Alaina and Yearwood have teamed up previously for a duet version of “Getting Good.” The pair made the announcement during Alaina’s appearance on Yearwood’s Food Network show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen last summer, following a pre-quarantine taping.

Alaina is making her way up the country charts with his latest song, “Getting Over Him,” featuring Jon Pardi. The song is the title cut from her Getting Over Him EP, featuring six self-penned songs earning praise for its embodiment of self-confidence, empowerment, and resilience. In addition to “Getting Over Him,” standout tracks include “Run” and the “subtly powerful, reflective piano ballad” (The Tennessean) featuring pop sensation Lukas Graham, “What Do You Think Of?”
