“Show Me” is the first single available

Tony and Grammy Award-winner and Academy & Emmy Award-nominee Leslie Odom, Jr. is set to release a new album When A Crooner Dies on November 17th via BMG. It’s all-new, original music and marks his fifth full-length studio album and his first album of all original songs since 2019.

“Whoooo boy. I can feel the season of turmoil (and growth) that gave rise to the sentiment of the song in the first lines of music,” Odom Jr. shares. “Do I have the capacity to love someone for real? Do I have the capacity for that kind of unselfishness? Can I be that generous? That open? Or am I somehow…unfit…for all that true love asks of us? I prayed to God for proof of life…proof of my own humanity. I wanted heaven to show me.”

Odom, Jr. releases “Show Me” as the first single from the project, available now.

Last week, Leslie also made his long-awaited return to Broadway for the first time since his iconic, Tony Award-winning performance as Aaron Burr in Hamilton. He is starring in and producing the first Broadway revival of Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch by the legendary Ossie Davis, which opened on September 27th.
