Metallica’s 40th Anniversary shows streaming on-demand

Amazon’s The Coda Collection will air this weekend

Fans who missed Metallica’s pair of 40th anniversary concerts this past weekend can enjoy rebroadcasts of both shows on-demand exclusively on The Coda Collection this Christmas Weekend in the US and on Amazon Prime internationally.

The shows will be available to stream from Friday, December 24th at 2 am JST/5 pm GMT/noon ET/9 am PT through Monday, December 27th at 1:59 pm JST/4:59 am GMT/11:59 pm ET/8:59 pm PT.

The two night event at the Chase Center in the band’s hometown of San Francisco, featured two different setlists that mixed hits with deep cuts and live premieres. Friday’s show featured 16 songs including the live debut of “Fixxxer” from the band’s Reload album. Sunday’s show, which seemed to be slightly delayed due a fire alarm, included 16 songs performed in reverse chronological order, five of which weren’t performed live in nearly a decade.

“You’re gonna hear something from every album tonight,” frontman James Hetfield shares with the Sunday audience.

Following the initial viewing period, both concerts will return to the The Coda Collection and Prime Video with enhanced bonus footage and additional exclusives as part of an extensive partnership between The Coda Collection and Metallica, which will include a full slate of concert films, documentaries, and additional content spanning the band’s career arriving on the channel exclusively throughout 2022.

Additionally, fans can now stream the Metallica’s Cunning Stunts and Orgullo, Pasión, y Gloria: Tres Noches en la Ciudad de México films exclusively on The Coda Collection, with more titles to be announced next year.

The Coda Collection is available to Amazon Prime members in the US now for $4.99 per month with a free seven day trial.
