James Johnston will support this September

Australian native Morgan Evans returns home to the land Down Under this fall for an Australian and New Zealand tour. The Life Upside Down Tour is presented by Chugg Entertainment, Frontier Touring and Potts Entertainment. It kicks off at Auckland’s Powerstation on Thursday, September 7th, before landing at Newcastle Civic Theatre for an incredibly special hometown performance on Saturday, September 9th. Evans then heads to The Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Monday, September 11th before making his Sydney Opera House debut on Tuesday, September 12th, followed by stops at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Friday, September 15th, Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Sunday, September 17th, and Perth’s The Astor Theatre on Tuesday, September 19th. Evans will be joined on his Australia & New Zealand tour by 2x Golden Guitar winner, James Johnston, except in Sydney.

“These will be our first headline shows there in almost four years, playing some badass venues (including the Sydney Opera House!!!) and I’ll be bringing my old mate James Johnston along for the ride!” he shares on social media.

Frontier Members can access pre-sale tickets starting Wednesday, May 31st at noon local time before the general public on sale opens Thursday, June 1st at 1 pm local time.

Evans returns to Australia just a year on from his spectacular CMC Rocks QLD 2022 appearance, which saw the country-pop sensation headline the sold out event alongside Kane Brown and Brad Paisley and join Paisley on his Australia and New Zealand tour. On that visit, Evans added a last-minute hometown Newcastle show which saw fans snap up all tickets within minutes!

The Nashville-via-Newcastle chart topper last headlined shows around the country in 2019 as part of his world tour, hitting the road off the back of a hugely successful second studio album, Things That We Drink To. The album earnt Evans a spot on Billboard’s Country Artists to Watch list that year, with lead single “Day Drunk” achieving 4x Platinum status in Australia and becoming a staple at commercial radio. Following his breakout in 2018, Evans continued to soar, achieving his first No. 1 on the US country chart with hit track “Kiss Somebody” which also went 3x Platinum in Australia and topped the Australian Country Airplay Chart for 25 weeks.

Evans’ latest EP, Life Upside Down is a project that hits home for Evans, and is a poetic timeline of the last year. This September, Evans is bringing the songs of Life Upside Down to the stage, returning home with a fresh outlook, resetting himself personally and musically with a string of home-soil shows that will be cathartic not just for the singer-songwriter but for loyal Aussie fans eagerly awaiting his return.
