Song reunites the Black Sabbath members

Ozzy Osbourne has released “Degradation Rules” with Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi. The track is the second single form his forthcoming Patient Number 9 album due September 9th via Epic Records.

The album’s first single, “Patient Number 9,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and also topped the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts. Upon its release, it landed in the Top 25 on the Hot Rock Songs, Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Rock & Alternative Airplay, and Mainstream Rock Airplay charts. The song earned 2.2 million radio audience impressions, 1.4 million official US streams in the June 24-30th tracking week. The track features a riveting solo from legendary guitarist Jeff Beck.

Like 2020’s Ordinary Man, the album will include an all-star lineup of featured guest artists, including Beck, Iommi, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Zakk Wylde, Eric Clapton, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, Guns N Roses’ Duff McKagan, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, the late Taylor Hawkins and Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney. Andrew Watt returns as producer for Osbourne’s 13th solo studio album.

Today (Fri, July 22nd), Osbourne will make his debut at this year’s San Diego Comic Con with Todd McFarlane, who directed the “Patient Number 9” video, to reveal artwork for a limited edition special McFarlane-designed comic book that is available that is part of some of the special edition album packages. A special limited edition black vinyl with the McFarlane artwork and a limited edition special McFarlane-designed comic book will be offered via Osbourne’s webstore.
