Hagar wants to add more flavor to the town

Sammy Hagar is planning to spend more time in Las Vegas as he plots Sammy’s Island in Sin City. The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that The Red Rocker is planning to pitch his idea in the city in coming months.

Hagar says he’d love to fully develop his Cabo Wabo Resort with a classic Vegas casino brand and a “proper theater” to unleash his 50+ year catalog of hits.

“I would make gaming the smallest part of it. I don’t want to get in there and compete with the big boys,” Hagar shares. “I just want my little piece of the pie and have my place for my fans to stay, eat, drink and just have a blast. Twenty-four-seven, poolside, a beach bar at the pool. Even if it’s a section of a casino, I’d love my own place, you know what I mean?”

Hagar already has one restaurant/bar in town. His Cabo Wabo Cantina at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood celebrates its 15th anniversary overlooking the Vegas Strip in 2024.

Hagar wants to bring the flavor of his Cabo Wabo Beach Club, which recently opened in Huntington Beach, CA, to the Entertainment Capital of the World.

“The whole idea of of Las Vegas is, anything’s possible. They just built that friggin’ dome. That thing is so awesome. I’m freaking out about it,” he says of the MSG Sphere. “When we took off, like at midnight, we’re going down the runway and I’m looking out the window and the fucking thing was the moon. Can you believe that? The moon landed in Vegas! I said to the pilots, ‘Don’t look at the moon! Keep your eyes on the runway!’ But when I see that, there are no limits. We can do anything.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer recently celebrated his epic 75th birthday with friends, family and fans at his legendary Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas. Now in its 32nd year, Hagar brought the original Birthday Bash energy back with three days of packed live performances with The Wabos, made up of bassist, Mona Gnader, guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer, David Lauser.

Hagar, who is among the artists selected to receive a Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2024, recently released Crazy Times with his band The Circle. Recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, the project Hagar’s 27th studio album and his second recorded with the all-star band. Produced by 8x Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, the 10-track album is available via UMe.

Over the past couple of years, he and The Circle have been headlining a series of non consecutive dates at The Strat in Vegas with guest appearances by a variety of high-profile musicians.
