The band will return for 2024

Pantera has pulled out of performing at Aftershock 2023. The band shared the news via a statement on social media on Thursday (Sept 21st), stating they will perform in 2024 instead.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be unable to perform at this year’s edition of Aftershock next month. This event is monumental and it pains us to have to miss it. We will however be back for Aftershock 2024!” they write. “A sincere thank you to Danny Wimmer Presents as well as fans around the globe who’ve supported the 2023 Pantera celebration. We will see you all at Louder Than Life this weekend and Aftershock next year!”

Stone Temple Pilots will replace Pantera for the West Coast’s Biggest Rock Festival. Aftershock takes place October 5-8 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA. More than 95 bands will perform over four full days, led by headliners Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold and Korn. The destination event builds on last year’s record-setting success including an audience of 160,000 music fans and bringing in nearly $30 million to the region.

One of the most anticipated tours of 2023, the new Pantera celebration tour includes original members Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown joined by guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Charlie Benante paying homage to the late Abbott Brothers who founded the band in the 1980s. In December 2022, they completed their first shows in over 20 years in Mexico City and South America with incredible reviews.

Besides their own headlining dates, fans can see the iconic group supporting Metallica on its M72 World Tour in 2023 and 2024. They’re also headlining major rock festivals in 2023 including Inkcarceration, Welcome to RockvilleRockfest, Rocklahoma and Blue Ridge Rock.
