Rooney and model Tiffany Fallon have been married for nearly 17 years

Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney has reportedly filed for divorce from his model wife Tiffany Fallon after nearly 17 years of marriage. TMZ has obtained legal docs in which Rooney cites an “adulterous relationship” between Fallon and her personal trainer as the cause. He claims the affair started in 2020 while he was sober and believes it’s still happening.

Fallon doesn’t deny the affair, but instead blames the breakup on Rooney withdrawing from their marriage due to “habitual alcoholism and drug abuse.” She also claims he cheated on her, too.

Rooney dismisses the allegations are the reason for their breakup. He admits to trying cocaine on a few occasions, but denies abusing narcotic drugs. He says he’s suffering from an alcohol disorder and is receiving treatment.

The divorce will also include a custody battle over the pair’s three kids and money.

Fallon’s divorce filings also cite Rooney’s September 2021 DUI arrest in which he was charged with driving under the influence in Franklin, TN, near Nashville. In June 2022, Rooney was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days for the Class A misdemeanor, but only served two days in jail as a first time offender with the rest of the sentence suspended.

Neither Rooney nor Fallon have commented personally on the matter, as of press time.

Rascal Flatts celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020 with 20 track greatest hits album. Due to the pandemic, the band’s farewell tour was canceled and now the trio are no longer working together. Frontman Gary LeVox and bassist Jay DeMarcus have each shared solo material, but LeVox says the former bandmates don’t talk much anymore.

“We don’t talk as much … cause, you know, we’re not doing business together,” he tells US Magazine in October 2022 while promoting his latest single “Get Down Like That” via Big Machine. “We wish each other the best … [I] want nothing but the best for those two and, you know, hopefully everything’s happy and healthy and their families are good.”

It’s unclear if the trio will ever reunite, but LeVox says the farewell event is “not really off the table.”
