Group has received more than 10m streams for debut single

London-based girl group Flo releases their new single “Immature” as well as announces the release of their upcoming five-track debut EP The Lead, which drops Friday, July 8th via Republic Records.

“‘Immature’ is about being strong and confident in yourself and we really don’t have time for someone being immature. It’s ok for you to tell a partner, ‘You’re not giving me what I want and you say you want my body, but you aren’t doing anything about it!’ It’s our more grown up record and the next phase of the story to ‘Cardboard Box.’ We had to dump them in ‘Cardboard Box,’ but this is about why it was necessary,” the trio shares of the track.

When Stella, Renee and Jorja broke onto the music scene with their debut single and fearless opening statement “Cardboard Box,” the world of Flo was born. Capturing the essence of an act at the helm of their musical and visual identity, the most talked about British R&B girl group Flo release their highly anticipated new single “Immature,” produced by collaborator and mentor MNEK. The slick future of R&B single “Immature” represents three women stronger together and is pure musical excellence. Recalling peak-era Timbaland, Aaliyah and TLC, “Immature” features crisp metallic beats, undulating earworm melodies and even baby cries. The track will appear on their debut EP The Lead, which will also feature their buzz-worthy hit “Cardboard Box” in addition to R&B slow jams, neo soul and more.

Receiving love from global superstars including Missy Elliot, SZA, Victoria Monet and JoJo with one tweet stating “the uk girl groups are coming hard,” featuring a clip of debut video “Cardboard Box,” has led to over three million views. Flo’s opening statement catapulted the group to the center of the cultural conversation about the important role girl groups play in our society. Peaking at No. 2 on the Viral Spotify UK Chart, “Cardboard Box” was an introduction to the girls’ love for honeyed harmonies and rich emotion, fusing the classic old school R&B they still obsess over.

Flo has already built a loyal fanbase on TikTok with over 170k followers and 4.1 million likes.

It is Flo’s origin story that speaks to their name – it flowed. Stella spent the first few years of her life in Mozambique before moving to the UK aged five, and met Renée at school in London, where they bonded over their joint love of singing and were familiar with Jorja via social media. Jorja was born in Germany and grew up in Hertfordshire and was on her own musical journey, but it was a chance meeting at an audition where they all locked eyes: “I saw the girls and we screamed across the room. I knew from that moment we were about to start something big,” says Jorja.
