Multi-talented singer/songwriter Rita Wilson has shared her new single, “Songbird” featuring special guest Josh Groban. Co-produced by Rita and GRAMMY Award-winning producer Matt Rollings, “Songbird” is a lovingly reimagined interpretation of the classic Fleetwood Mac track, hand-picked by Wilson for a larger duets/concept album to follow later this year.

When considering duet partners for “Songbird,” Wilson knew Groban would be the perfect fit. Groban lends his unique vocal gifts to the new arrangement that seamlessly blends Wilson’s honey-like vocals with Groban’s warm tones, bringing a lushness to the moving collaboration.

“‘Songbird’ written by Christine McVie has always been a song that has gone straight to my soul,” Wilson shares. “The simplicity of the lyric and melody makes it so powerful. It’s as if you’re eavesdropping on the most intimate of conversations. Singing this as a duet with Josh Groban allowed the imaginary conversation I had in my head to live with these two lovers, who may have been experiencing this exchange for the first time in their lives.”

On Friday, June 24th, Groban will host a one-of-a-kind livestream of his Radio City Music Hall residency, where he and Wilson performed “Songbird” together in front of a live audience. In other recent appearances, Wilson recently made her return to the CMA Fest stage in Nashville where she performed a rousing live set on opening day to a celebratory crowd. She also turned up at The Songwriters Hall of Fame 51st Annual Induction and Awards Ceremony, where she presented Paul Williams with the auspicious Johnny Mercer Award.
