The Rolling Stones’ 24th British and 26th American studio album, Hackney Diamonds, has topped the Official UK Albums Charts resulting in the third biggest week of sales for an album of 2023 so far, according to the Official Chart Company.

With seventy-two thousand units sold in the first week, Hackney Diamonds has outsold the rest of the top five combined, landing No. 1 in 12 countries, No. 2 in Italy and Greece, and No. 3 on the US Billboard 200.

Hackney Diamonds is the 13th studio album from the legendary rock group to reach No. 1 in the UK.

Hackney Diamonds was released on October 20th to universal critical and commercial acclaim, with many calling the album their best studio work in decades.

The album marks The Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood) first album produced by producer and musician Andrew Watt, and their first without full participation of drummer Charlie Watts who died in 2021. However, Watts is featured on two tracks alongside former Stones bassist Bill Wyman on one.

The 12-track album was recorded in various locations around the world, including Henson Recording Studios, Los Angeles; Metropolis Studios, London; Sanctuary Studios, Nassau, Bahamas; Electric Lady Studios, New York; and The Hit Factory/Germano Studios, also in New York.

The legendary group recently announced the expansion of their retail pop-up concept, RS No 9, by expanding to New York City, Los Angeles and Tokyo. Marking the first time the brand has been available outside the UK, the premium shopping destinations will feature the latest AW/23 Collection, new Hackney Diamonds album merch, as well as the recently announced collaboration with KidSuper, the eclectic New York creative. Fans will also find collectible blind-bagged skateboards from The Berrics and signed fine art prints by Ronnie Wood, alongside limited edition music formats.
