Song is from forthcoming fifth solo album

Ronnie Dunn has released “Broken Neon Hearts” as the first single from his forthcoming fifth solo studio album, 100 Proof Neon, due this summer. The award-winning country singer/songwriter, who is the latter half of Brooks & Dunn, co-wrote the track with Thomas Perkins and Matt Willis. The song pays homage to the neo traditional country sound.

“This is the start of a project that I’ve wanted to make for a long time. I purposely reached for a late 80’s / 90’s country… honky tonks, whiskey, neon lights, lost love, looking for love… twin fiddles, steel guitars, and string bending telecasters. 100% Neon!” Dunn says on social media.

Further album details are forthcoming, but Dunn has confirmed a collaboration with Parker McCollum.

Dunn has also launched his own publishing company, Perfect Pitch Publishing, which sees him signing and mentoring young writers.

“Kix [Brooks of Brooks & Dunn] and I have talked for years about starting a publishing company but didn’t have the time. We were traveling and putting all the time we had into Brooks & Dunn to really do it right,” Dunn tells Billboard.

Dunn will continue to write for his own Showbilly Music, which houses his own music along with Brooks & Dunn’s. Perfect Pitch’s roster includes Perkins, Hayden Baker, Dakota Striplin and Ariel Boetel.
