Multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd independently releases new music with “Midwest Rock & Roll.” Published by Big Machine Music, Hurd co-wrote the song alongside acclaimed tunesmiths Randy Montana and Mark Holman and delivers the nostalgia of his Midwest upbringing as the chorus echoes, “You set your own heart on fire when you grow up where its cold / darkness and teenage desire yeah that’s Midwest Rock & Roll.” Hurd also enlisted chart-topping producer/songwriter, and his dear grade school friend, Aaron Eshuis to produce the track.

“‘Midwest Rock & Roll’ is the kind of music I’ve wanted to make since I was a kid first learning to write songs back home in Kalamazoo, Michigan,” shares Hurd. “It feels like practicing with your first band in the basement – it’s the soundtrack for growing up and figuring it out. I’m extremely proud of this song and the music I’m creating, and I hope that this next musical chapter hits people right in the heart.”

Nashville-based independent recording artist Ryan Hurd has accumulated more than one billion on-demand career streams, received numerous award nominations (CMA Awards, ACM Awards, CMT Music Awards, etc.) including two Grammy Awards nominations and has scored multiple No. 1 hits as a singer and a songwriter. His debut album Pelago, reached the top five of Spotify’s most-streamed country albums and garnered critical acclaim.

Signed to Big Machine Music for publishing, Hurd earned his place in country music history writing platinum No. 1 hits for Blake Shelton, Jordan Davis, Luke Bryan, Lady A, and Diplo/Morgan Wallen (“Heartless”), in addition to writing many other hits for artists like Connor Smith (“Take It Slow”), Breland and Maren Morris (“I Can’t Love You Anymore”). The 2022 ASCAP Country Award winner has toured with the likes of Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Darius Rucker and Lady A in addition to headlining dates. His 2024 independent release “Midwest Rock & Roll” serves as the first taste of forthcoming music from Hurd as he’s currently in the studio writing and recording for his next project.
