Trunk will be hosting a massive party this fall in Las Vegas

Eddie Trunk is celebrating his 40th year in radio with an all-star party in Las Vegas this fall. Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony as The Other Half (of Van Halen) will be the featured performers at the event on Monday, December 11th at the House of Blues inside of Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas with additional “big surprise guests” who may or may not be announced in advance.

Trunk shared the news on his daily SiriusXM radio show, Trunk Nation, today (Fri, Sept 15th), stating that drummer Mike Portnoy and guitarist Brent Woods will be curating the music for the night.

“Outside of those four musicians — Sammy and Michael as featured performers, Brent and Mike running the band and bringing in the guest musicians who will jam — I don’t know yet where we’re gonna go here, but needless to say, as I’m announcing this, and needless to say, with you guys knowing all the people who have been on this show and all the people I’ve been in touch with and have been friends with over the decades, it’s a Who’s Who that could show up at this thing, that could be there or just get up to jam. Some I’m going to know about, some I’m not,” Trunk states.

The event will see Trunk choosing songs that Hagar and Anthony will perform with a rotating backing band of all-star musicians.

“So just to be clear, this is not a Sammy Hagar concert,” he confirms. “Sammy is going to perform and Michael Anthony is going to perform, but it’s an all-star jam night. We are going to shoot it. We are going to record it. There will be tons of music and performances that happen as we go and this unfolds that have nothing to do with Sammy and Michael.”

A limited amount of tickets will be available through Ticketmaster starting with a presale on Wednesday, September 20th at 10 am PT. Those on Trunk’s mailing list will receive a code to purchase tickets early. If any tickets remain, they will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, September 23rd. Tickets will range between $50-100 for balcony reserved seats. Additional tickets may be released.

All proceeds of the event will go to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.
