The song was cowritten by Profitt and Chris Janson

Tennessee-born, singer-songwriter Shane Profitt releases his latest musical creation, “Back Home” via Big Machine Label Group. Written by Profitt, multi-platinum artist Chris Janson, hitmaker Blake Bollinger and Nate Kenyon and produced by the Grammy Award-winning Julian Raymond, the song reiterates the notion that there is no place like home and finds the narrator longing to get back as soon as possible.

“Home isn’t just a place, but a feeling,” says Profitt. “A lot of this song comes from my time spent on the road and missing that small-town feeling and being near to the places, people and things you love—something I’m sure a lot of people can relate to.”

The Columbia, TN native’s homesick new track fondly paints a vivid picture of small-town life with images of hanging out at the local Walmart parking lot, high school kids working on a farm and back porch views.

Profitt has recently released a string of new tracks including the laid-back love song “Two Down” and the autobiographical “I Am Who I Am” and is continuing to work on new music.

Across his 2023 Still Picks Up EP, which includes his Top 15 debut country radio single “How It Oughta Be,” it’s clear he puts his life to music — along with the lives of so many others. The emerging artist is steadily releasing new music and continuing to hone his craft.
