Shania Twain announces new music ahead of Stagecoach appearance

Global superstar Shania Twain revealed new music news when making an appearance last night (Mon, April 24th) on NBC’s The Voice. While Twain served as a first-time-ever fifth judge on the hit show and a key advisor to the contestants, fans learned Twain’s “Life’s About to Get Good” is scheduled to hit country airwaves this June and her first album in 15 years is due out this September.

When writing “Life’s About to Get Good,” Shania explains, “I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song.” The songwriter recognized that with all of the negative in life also comes the positive. “You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”

Twain, who recently appeared as a guest on CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, plans to debut her new single during her headlining set at this Saturday night (April 29th) in Indio, CA at Stagecoach Festival, one of the nation’s most prominent country music festivals.

“You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”

Twain is a five-time GRAMMY Award-winner and the reigning Queen of Country Pop. With more than 75 million albums sold worldwide and U.S. sales topping 34.5 million, Twain remains the top-selling female country artist of all time. Shania’s albums include her Platinum-selling 1993 debut, Shania Twain; the GRAMMY Award-winning, Double Diamond-selling 1995 release, The Woman in Me; Come On Over, the best-selling studio album in Soundscan history by a female artist in any genre and the best-selling country album of all time with over 40 million units sold worldwide; and UP!, Shania’s third consecutive Diamond-selling album release.

Recognizing her indelible impact and achievements in music, Twain is the first and only female to receive CMT’s Artist of a Lifetime Award. Shania also recently received the Icon Award at Billboard’s Women in Music ceremony. Shania’s hits include “Any Man of Mine,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “You’re Still the One” and “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!”
