Rock royalty reigns at The Hammersmith Apollo

Last night (Wed, May 15th), The Black Crowes’ Happiness Bastards Tour arrived in London. The set included tributes to Otis Redding, Lou Reed, and a special encore with Steven Tyler who joined The Black Crowes to perform Aerosmith’s classic “Mama Kin.”

Welcoming Steven Tyler to the stage to perform “Mama Kin,” Chris Robinson said, “If it is alright with y’all, we wanna play one more song. We wanna dedicate it to somebody who is a dear friend, and a hero, and a legend, Mr. Steven Tyler. We will be touring with Aerosmith soon, so we wanna play one of his songs. Thank y’all! We’ll see you when we see you!”

The Happiness Bastards Tour continues across Europe until June, followed by the band supporting Aerosmith on their Peace Out Tour starting in September in North America.

The Black Crowes’ first new album in 15 years Happiness Bastards is out now.
