Nate D Sanders Auctions will handle the sale

The Grammy award from 1973 for Best Engineered Recording of Stevie Wonder’s album Innervisions, won by Robert Margouleff and Malcolm Cecil, will be auctioned by Nate D. Sanders Auctions on October 27th. Interested bidders may participate in the auction online.

Margouleff and Cecil, close collaborators with Wonder and creators of the revolutionary Tonto synthesizer — used on the hit tracks “Living for the City,” “Higher Ground” and “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing.” In addition to this Grammy, Innervisions won “Album of the Year” for 1973 and is considered among the greatest albums of all time, reaching No. 34 by Rolling Stone in its list of the best 500 albums.

The Grammy Award is a gold-plated metal representation of a gramophone affixed to a wooden base, with a plate reading “National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences / Robert Margouleff & Malcolm Cecil / Best Engineered Recording-1973 / ‘Innervisions’.”

Bidding for the Grammy begins at $8,000.
