The Legend of Malone will be available on February 20th

Superplastic, the creator of the world’s first and massively popular social-media-driven animated character universe has teamed up with eight-time diamond-certified Grammy Award-nominated icon Post Malone to create the first premium vinyl figure in his image. The Legend of Malone brings the off-beat music and fashion icon to life in painstaking detail, with ample references to his fan-favorite music videos. The 12-inch vinyl toy drops on February 20th at 2 pm ET and is available for $170 at superplastic.co.

A head-to-toe depiction of the boundary-pushing artist, The Legend of Malone features Post Malone’s distinct face tattoos, ever-present gold chain, and a wide, mischievous grin. Each figure arrives in a pink leisure suit, white loafers, and star-covered socks, inspired by Malone’s affinity for sharp tailoring, the color pink and unexpected red carpet looks. An interchangeable head allows The Legend of Malone to become an eagle, his self-proclaimed favorite animal, and 300 lucky fans will randomly receive a custom, fully gold eagle head included with their purchase.

The most unique part of the set is the accompanying accessories inspired by Post Malone’s extensive catalog of award-winning songs and music videos. The katana accessory is pulled straight from “Rockstar” where he wields the blade in his viral music video. A bouquet of sunflowers references “Sunflower,” a complicated love song out of Spider-Man’s: Into the Spiderverse. A lit cigarette comes from “Congratulations,” where Malone smokes and reminiscences about his rise to the top of the charts. Accessories even include an interchangeable bronze armored arm, inspired by Malone’s medieval
themed music video “Circles.”

A versatile artist who incorporates elements of hip-hop, pop, rock, R&B, and even country, Post Malone has built a massive and widespread fan base while achieving significant commercial and critical acclaim. Malone reached new levels of success this year when he was recognized for the most RIAA
diamond-certified singles of any artist, and for the highest platinum-certified single of all time for “Sunflower” with Swae Lee. Malone is currently on a global tour for Austin, his fifth studio album. The album is another creative departure for the artist as it is his most overtly “pop” production to date.

“Post Malone is one of the biggest stars of our generation and an absolute legend in every way,” says Superplastic’s Chief Development Officer Ioana Banu. “The Legend of Malone is incredibly special. A lot of love went into the design of this art toy. It has interchangeable body parts and even hidden surprises
sprinkled in select boxes. It’s insanely awesome and we’re stoked to bring it to life!”

“Looking back at my music from the last decade to create the looks and accessories for The Legend of Malone was a trip,” said Post Malone. “Superplastic was the perfect partner for me to co-create this figure, and I couldn’t be more excited with the outcome.”

The Legend of Malone follows Superplastic’s previous successful collaborations with industry-defining artists, including The Weeknd and Gorillaz. In honor of the 10th anniversary of The Weeknd’s debut album Kiss Land, Superplastic debuted a co-branded, limited edition collection of the same name, inspired by the Weeknd’s Super Fantastic Red Panda Cat and Superplastic’s Synthetic Celebrity Janky. Superplastic has also been a longstanding collaborator with boundary-pushing virtual band Gorillaz. The two initially partnered to debut the Gorillas’ first vinyl figure in 10 years, a 12-inch figure of frontman 2D, and have released subsequent blind boxes of the band’s four musicians as miniatures.
